Swan Windows are a family-owned glazing company based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, providing high-quality windows, doors and conservatories to thousands of homes.
Swan Windows had a fresh new website and a complete rebrand but didn’t have SEO to attract customers in the Hertfordshire area and beyond. They wanted more leads coming through their website and to get in front of users for the services and products they provide.
They needed to transform their online presence to drive leads and become a regional leader.
Brick Digital outlined a local SEO audit and strategy to increase rankings, traffic and website conversions. Rather than labelling Swan as ‘glazing specialists’, we re-positioned them as ‘Swan Windows, Doors & Double Glazing’ to cover all aspects of the solutions they offer, with intent to make them an industry leader in Hertfordshire, then expanding into Buckinghamshire with scope for additional locations.
After analysing Swan Windows against their competitors to gain a deep understanding of their business and services, and identifying key industry search terms, we discovered that the greatest source of Organic traffic was for “Category” + “Location” search terms e.g. Bifold Doors in Hertfordshire. We conducted an in-depth local SEO audit and strategy to increase rankings and traffic that required onsite improvements around content, trust, calls to action, on-page SEO and new pages. A link building strategy was also incorporated to increase Swan’s authority, trust and backlinks.
As there was so much opportunity for onsite improvements, we structured all of the tasks into a monthly SEO roadmap. This allowed us to identify priorities in the first 3 months of the campaign and ensure Swan was involved and up to date with our SEO rollout.
Our recommendations included optimised meta data, enhanced page structure based on what other competitors have included from our content gap analysis, improved content and design for usability, clear calls to actions to help increase conversions, internal linking and trust signals. This was then followed by a new top navigation and footer layout for UX and SEO. The onsite work was then supported by link building campaigns to help increase rankings for target homepage terms from niche relevant websites.
To improve on-page, we worked closely with Swan’s web developer to create the blocks and design we needed to optimise key pages, and we liaised with Swan on content updates, company information and imagery.
Thanks to a combined effort of our SEO strategy and Swan’s amazing team and web developer, we achieved position #1 for Swan’s main homepage term, and 33 page #1 rankings for Rickmansworth and Hertfordshire terms, and counting…
