Junk Hunters is a rubbish removal service that began life in London and has since begun franchising across the country.
Where Junk Hunters had previously ranked well, we knew they could claim victory again with just a few key changes to their approach. Following extensive research into the technical optimisation of the site, we conducted a complete analysis of what had brought the site success in the past, whilst also diagnosing the cause of the drop in traffic. Our team of experts tracked their site history back to before their domain name changed and audited their current site to prepare it for the changes needed in order to regain their previous standing (and ideally build upon it further).
Using our audit blueprints, we set about making improvements to the technical aspects of the website which were holding back its ability to rank highly in Google. These included changes to meta information and site structure, which were not adequately signalling the site’s intent to Google. Whilst improving site structure we also witnessed competitors making use of much deeper content to outrank Junk Hunters. In response to this discovery, we initiated a site-wide content update to bring more relevancy to the site.
Once the foundational structure of the site itself had been optimised, we began an ongoing link building campaign, seeking to build new backlinks and increase the authority of the new domain name. Given the competitive space in which Junk Hunters operates, we focussed on gaining high-quality, high-relevance backlinks from websites of other, related businesses also based in London. To execute this, we created a dedicated infographic and press release, bringing to life London’s Scariest Recycling Facts. This was then sent out to a number of prospects, and continues to be featured and linked to from other London related websites too this day.
