Our Editorial Process

How we write our SEO advice

Every article we publish is written and checked by real SEO experts. Not writers. Not proofreaders. The same people execute their SEO strategies for our clients every day.

This editorial process page has been designed to transparently explain who writes our content, how we check it, and how we keep it up to date, accurate and relevant as search changes.

Why transparency is important

SEO moves fast, and getting it wrong costs real money. Follow a tip that’s two years out of date, or misread a Google update, and you can waste months of work and budget. Sometimes despite having the best intentions, you can end up hurting your sites performance

So we write our content the way we run our campaigns. Built on real work, real results and real testing. Checked by a second expert. Periodically reviewed and kept up to date. We’re not writing to chase rankings or fill a blog. We write to answer the questions our clients actually ask.

How we do it

01

Real questions, answered by real experts

We don’t pick topics to  try and “game” Google. We write about the things our clients ask us, the founders and marketing teams we work with every day. We also share our take on real industry news, Google updates, and the debates going on over on platforms like LinkedIn.

Our answers come from real experience and real data. Our team have put together and executed SEO campaigns for more than 100 businesses, so what you read is what we’re actually seeing right now, not theory copied from somewhere else.

02

A senior strategist writes the first draft

The first draft is written by a senior member of our SEO team who lives and breathes this stuff. They only write about what they know first-hand, and their name goes on the article with a link to their profile.

They write using three things, in this order:

  1. Our own client data and what we’ve seen work across 100+ businesses.
  2. The official sources, like Google Search Central and the Search Quality Rate Guidelines.
  3. Trusted independent research.

When we give a number or make a claim, we tell you where it came from and link to it, so you can check it yourself. We use AI to help with the work, like any good search team does. But the thinking, the examples, and the final words are our team’s own.

03

A second expert checks it

Before anything goes live, a second expert reads it. Always someone different from the person who wrote the first draft. They review three things:

  1. Is the advice right, is the article easy to understand and is the data accurate?
  2. Anything we say about how Google or a platform works is current and described fairly.
  3. The advice matches what we’re seeing in real client work, not just theory.

They can send it back for more edits, more proof, or a rethink. Both experts have to agree before it’s published.

This is the most important step. Most agencies put a layer of account managers between you and the people doing the actual work. We don’t. The people writing and checking these articles are the real experts, and their names are on every piece so you know exactly who stands behind it.

04

We publish, then keep it up to date

Every article shows who wrote it, who checked it, and when it was last updated.

Search changes constantly. Updates land, features get dropped, and best advice gets rewritten more often here than in almost any other field. Something that was right when we published it can go out of date fast.

So we go back and review our advice regularly, usually every 3-6 months, and update it when it needs it. We’ll also review an article sooner if:

  • A big Google update changes the picture.
  • A tool, feature, or platform we mentioned changes or disappears.
  • The review date rolls around.
  • A reader spots a mistake and we confirm it.
  • The official guidance changes.

When we make a real change, we add a short note saying what changed and when.

Where we stand

We’re an SEO agency not a news publication

Brick Digital is a working SEO agency. Our advice comes from our team’s real, hands-on experience. We don’t make money from ads or affiliate links on our content, so we’ve got no reason to push one tool or tactic over another.

When we mention tools or platforms

If we name a specific tool or platform, it’s because our team actually uses it and rates it, not because anyone paid us to say so. When we compare options, we do it fairly and share the reasons for our decision to switch tools or bring new tools into our arsenal.

Nothing here is sponsored

No article on this site has been paid for, gifted, or arranged by anyone outside Brick Digital. If that ever changes, we’ll say so clearly on the page itself.

Spotted a mistake?

Tell us. We mean it. If you think something here is wrong, out of date, or misleading, send it over through our contact form. A member of our team will look at it within five working days. If you’re right, we’ll fix the article, update the date, and note the change.

We’ll only ever change content to correct a genuine mistake, never to hide fair criticism.
