SEO success after launching a new website

The Project

Junk Hunters are a fast growing rubbish removal service that began life in London and has since began franchising across the country. Brick Digital helped them regain their organic search traffic and aid the growth of their franchises with SEO.

THE SCOPE

Makana Group were a newly founded business who were quickly gathering momentum, but had yet to build a professional website. When they commissioned our web designers to design and build their new site they were also keen to gain exposure in Google when potential customers were searching for their services.

THE APPROACH

As Makana Group were launching a new website, on a new domain name, we proposed a one off SEO project that would set a solid foundation for their new website to help it begin ranking in Google as soon as it went live. Our SEO Setup service does just that, which is why Makana were keen to build this into their website from the outset.

TAKING ACTION

Keyword Research – There was no past data for the Makana Group website therefore we went ahead with keyword research from a fresh perspective, learning more about their business and industry, analysing competitors websites, and reverse engineering their target customers to understand what they were searching in Google to find the products and services that Makana Group offer. This helped us to understand what search terms were likely to drive new business inquiries for Makana is they were to rank at the top of Google search results.
Sitemap Planning – With our list of target keywords at the ready we worked closely with the web designers to layout a sitemap and page structure for the new Makana website, that was not only user friendly, but also included all of the necessary pages that would help Google understand which search terms to display Makana Group for in the search results.
Content Creation – As part of our SEO setup service, and using all of our research and sitemap planning, we began writing the content for the Makana pages that would be the key traffic drivers. This meant the new Makana Group website would launch with expertly crafted content that appealed to not only Google, but also users, including Meta titles, Meta descriptions, URLs, and on-page content.
Technical SEO – Due to their being no previous website our team did not have a vast list of technical SEO issues to fix. This allowed us to focus on ensuring all the necessary technical SEO requirements were built in from the beginning, like a well optimised robots.txt file, internal linking across key pages, optimised XML sitemap, and more.
Local SEO – Despite Makana Groups national coverage, we focussed on a local approach to their SEO as the competition for national keywords meant that they would struggle to rank without a much larger SEO effort. Focussing on ranking them for ‘service + London’ keywords presented a much larger opportunity to rank quickly and drive new business inquiries. As with all of our SEO setups, the local SEO actions included setting up and properly optimising their Google business listing, building target area landing pages on their website complete with content, and building new locally relevant backlinks.
Launch Support & Reporting – When it was time to launch the new Makana Group website we provided full support to ensure it went smoothly and that all of our SEO work was double checked for quality and Google indexing. Following the launch we set up on-site tracking to allow us to report back to Makana Group on the success of the SEO setup and website launch. Within the first 6 months of the new site going live the follow results were seen.
